Shelter and Rescue Wish Lists
Many shelters and rescues lack money and resources to properly take care of the many animals that come to them.
It is a never-ending process and every type of assistance helps. Please consider helping the ones below, or one in your area!

Dan Cosgrove Animal Shelter, CT - http://www.branfordanimalshelter.org/

This is the Director doing this post . And to be quite honest I’m not even sure where to begin . I apologize for the length so bear with me.
8 days ago - we didn’t even know this squishy faced gargoyle looking little girl . When we found you in the woods tied to a twig , we could never have known how you would steal our hearts so quickly and how we would all fall so head over heels in love with you . You melted all of us by trusting us so quickly , running tail between the legs from kittens that hissed at you , dancing every time you heard us say the word walk or spelled W-A-L-K.
How someone could leave you the way they did is so beyond me and to imagine 8 days ago , I didn’t even know you but I cried over you last night , not knowing if you would survive . I’m on literally no sleep doing this post so forgive the rambling .

Summer , as we have so affectionately named her , started to leak fluid from her vulva over the last few days. Sometimes it’s indicative of a pyrometra infection . This happens to dogs who are bred and are not spayed . Their uterus fills up with pus and infection and they die . Lucky for Summer she’s with us so we were able to get her in to be spayed quickly . Unfortunately last night Summer started bleeding internally and she was oozing blood out of her sutured area. After speaking to vets this is common in dogs that were overbred and also those who have pyometra. She was rushed by Kate from Madison Vet to Pieper who worked on stabilizing Summer to determine if she was a candidate for surgery . At 3 am , we got the call that she was going in for emergency surgery but that she had lost a lot of blood and they were worried . They called back at 6 am to say she had made it but today will be critical for her path forward - she may need transfusions and other help. The estimate is near $6000.
We need to raise money for Summer. I feel bad because all this week I feel like we continually asked for help for these poor abandoned animals and I didn’t know I would be asking again . But summer deserves this chance and desperately needs us right now. If you are willing to help you can donate online at. https://www.branford-ct.gov/depar.../animal-shelter/donation

Please put under special sellers instructions for Summer
Or by mailing a check to DCAS 11Cherry Hill Rd Branford CT 06405 .

People call us constantly and say my dog is acting aggressive, my dog seems to have discharge , my dog is humping everyone in the house, my dog is continuously roaming - I want to get rid of him or her and when we ask …. Are they spayed or neutered ? They say no - why does that matter ? And when we explain why it matters - they say I’m not interested in doing that I just want the dog gone . Please stop …. Please spay and neuter your animals. Please take responsibility for them when you bring them into your homes . Please do not say it’s not your problem . Summer would have died if she was not provided with the life saving surgeries she received . And all they had to do was to spay her and this infection would not have started .

Little Wanderers, NYC -

8/4/22 UPDATE! Mouse has been rescued. She did not fall out of a window. She collapsed in front of this building because she could no longer walk. She is an older cat completely matted from head to toe with sunken eyes and almost no muscle mass. But she’s eating and trying to live. We want to give her a chance. Help us help Mouse. PayPal.me/littlewanderersny or text LWNYC to 44-321 and use any card you’d like. Or, visit the fundraising button in our bio. She is currently in the ICU at Veterinary Emergency Group in White Plains. Only we can save her. #ittakesavillage

Urgent Bronx help needed in the Parkchester area near Marshall’s. A grounds worker called us this morning about a cat that fell out of a window in the Bronx. She sent us this photo. Nobody has been able to go so far and it needs help badly. Can you please share this post with five people and spread the word? This cat needs urgent rescue. If you can go, we will put you in touch with the grounds keeper.

Are you looking for an opportunity to give back to the community while helping warm, cuddly dogs feel happy and safe? Then volunteering or fostering at FFD is just the thing. We always need volunteers, 18 years old or older, to work one of our 2 hour shifts each week. Shifts are 9
to 11 and 4 to 6, every day. If you love dogs and can spare 2 hours every week, then contact us at 508-548-7742.

We are still offering our Vet Assistance Program, designed to help ensure your dog is able to see a veterinarian for care when needed, as well as our $60 Food Voucher Program. The food vouchers are redeemable at Uptown Dog on route 28A in West Falmouth or at Falmouth Pet
Center on route 28 near Stop & Shop. To participate in either or both programs, please call our office at 508-548-7742 and leave a message specifying what you need. Please be sure to slowly and clearly state your name and phone number.

Last Call K-9 Rescue, CA - WWW.lastcallk-9rescueproject.org

We are asking for help with Dog Food once again. It is a need that never seems to go away. We have several large dogs and rescue they just aren’t getting adopted or have no interest whatsoever. But all the dogs need to eat. We also have several puppies that are just growing bigger and bigger that have no interest. And you know puppies eat a lot. They are eating Nutra Nuggets Puppy. We preferred to use Costco brand dog food or even tractor supply dog food. Right now we aren’t being too picky as we just want to fill their bellies. We don’t like switching brands too often as it gives them upset stomachs. We also can use Iams mini chunks for our small breed dogs.

We also are in need of puppy pads!

If needing to send it by shipping you can private message for an address. And monetary donations are always welcome also. I will include our website that has our donate button on the website. Please be sure to put in the notes/memo section for dog food. As always we GREATLY thank you for all your help!

Project Precious Rescue is ALWAYS in need of loving foster homes for our pups to land temporarily before they find their forever homes...

Our friends at Petals 4 Paws are huge rescue advocates, and they are generously offering to donate $50 for every NEW approved foster home in the month of May!
Our fosters are the backbone of our rescue and the reason why we can continue to commit to saving lives every day. Without them, we have nowhere for these homeless dogs to go and thus we have to close our intakes. Lately we have been very close to having to make that decision, and we really don't want to have to say NO to dogs and cats that need us!
So, please consider becoming a foster for PPR - We will match your family with a dog or cat that fits your lifestyle, and cover all expenses including vet bills and supplies. All you have to do is give them a temporary safe space filled with love. We need fosters for dogs/puppies and cats/kittens of all ages, breeds and sizes! We support our fosters every step of the way and believe it's important to have them involved in the adoption process and choosing the new family.
To apply to foster, please go to our website www.pprct.org and fill out our foster application!
A big THANK YOU to Petals 4 Paws for their support of our mission, and their generosity!

Peace for All Animals, Inc - Wareham, MA

We have so much to do here to continue we have to move some of our plants, bushes, we have a circle of stones that has to be dismantled we have to move our foaling barn that Pearl is in ugh. We also have to move Sophia's pen and the chickens enclosure and fit them all in the small yard until we can get the back ready. I'm 67 years old this is a huge undertaking for me but my goal is for this place to continue long after I'm gone to be able to see the animals. My goal is also to create a fostering system in New England for baby animals that die because no one cares. I would really appreciate it if you would consider donating even $20 that can support us in moving our fences and buildings getting the things that we need so these animals will be OK during this traumatic time.

Sandi Paws Rescue, WI- http://www.sandipaws.org/

Sandi Paws Rescue community, we need your help! It is not often that we ask for our community to pull together for us, but now is one of those times. We simply cannot carry the burden alone and are asking for your monetary contributions to help pay our rising vet bills.

Lady was recently surrendered to our rescue. After taking in this sweet girl, we learned that she is heartworm positive and will need to have extensive treatment, costing $1,000.

Handsome Powder, who is available for adoption, injured his tail and may need surgery. Even if surgery is not required, he will have a costly vet bill and recovery.
Hollee and Honey are an adorable duo who were surrendered to us last week. Both of them had extreme dental disease and rot. Hollee just had her first of two surgeries, which has thus far resulted in an $800 bill. Honey will be having her surgery soon.

Beautiful Katniss was dumped at a Walmart in Alabama, weighing only 35 lbs. After being cared for by Sandi Paws Rescue, she is now a healthy 75 lbs! Unfortunately, she has tested positive for heartworms and must now undergo expensive treatments before she can begin looking for her forever home.

Last, but not least, we have sweet JJ who is one of our permanent fosters. JJ had parvo as a puppy and beat the odds to survival, however, he continues to need elevated medical care. He will be headed to the UW-Madison Vet Hospital on March 21 for a risky and much-needed surgery.

Needless to say, this last week has hit our rescue hard. We are asking you to open your hearts to contribute to these sweet dogs in our care. Quite frankly, we are not sure how we will pay these bills without your help. Every dollar counts!
Our fundraising goal is $8,000 to cover the veterinary cost and care of these six dogs and provide them with the quality of life they deserve.
Sandi Paws Rescue is a 100% volunteer and foster rescue. We do not receive any funding outside of grants and monetary donations from generous people like you. We thank you in advance for your support and contributions.

All Souls Connected, PA -
http://www.allsoulsconnected.org/

We are coming into kitten season and TNR season. It is still very difficult to get any appointments at the spay neuter clinics. We have several clinics we use and the appointments are scarce but we are doing what we can.
That being said, we need to raise some funds to be able to Vet the cats we trap, to feed the colonies we support and medical care for those in our care. We have not run a fundraiser in several months, so it is time to replenish our account.
We will also soon need yo have our taxes done and that typically runs around $800 for non profit tax preparation.
We appreciate every donation that comes in, we rely on our donors support to care for the animals in our care and the ones we help throughout the year.

You can donate through the link in the post, through our website, or our PayPal (allsoulsconnected@gmail.com).
All donations are tax
deductible. Thank you!

Rebel Souls Rescue, CA - http://www.rebelsoulsrescue.com/

Please consider supporting Rebel Souls Rescue. We are a small non profit dog rescue who works very hard to save dogs from very high kill shelters where they are doomed. We tend to save the dogs others will not take on. We pride ourselves in giving these dogs a second chance at a new life. But without funding we cannot do this. We want to create a canine facility here that can save more dogs, accommodate training programs, create community programs that raise awareness about responsible pet ownership and so much more. Your contributions can help us attain this huge goal.

Kitty Up Cat Rescue has been the rescue pulling the cats and kitties from Bartow, almost singlehandedly, for the past year. Without them hundreds would have been euthanized! Friends of Falmouth Dogs - MA
http://www.friendsoffalmouthdogs.org/dogs.html
Please consider volunteering at the shelter. Volunteering 2 hours per week, doing all the things that will make our dogs happy, is a great way to spend time. Another way to help our dogs is to foster them. We need people ready to take in dogs for varying amounts of time – a few days, a few weeks or maybe a couple of months. FFD provides food, snacks, bedding, toys, leashes and anything else the dog needs. The foster family provides lots of love and attention. Call us if you are interested in volunteering or fostering!

Fundraiser for Mobilization for Animals PA, Inc..  https://gofund.me/44c1040f

I named him Turner. He’s been struggling on the Philadelphia streets for many years. Turner has reigned as the Sheriff of his cat colony and despite all the hardships he’s suffered, he happily greets human visitors.  In October, I trapped him as part of a TNR project hoping to get him neutered. Once taken to the spay-neuter clinic, it was revealed that he was adopted and microchipped in 2012.  No response was received from the registered phone number, and further investigation showed his owners sold the home and moved away years ago. Turner had been abandoned.

At the spay-neuter clinic, it was also revealed that Turner tested positive for FIV(Feline Aids).  Over the years, with no veterinary care, poor nutrition, exposure to extremes of heat and cold, and having to mate and fight for survival, Turner was infected. In addition to FIV, Turner has tartar and a lot of tooth decay. X-rays could possibly indicate full mouth extractions.

Turner desperately needs veterinary care and a loving foster/adoptive home to help ensure his chance for a new healthier life.
Please help sweet Turner receive this deserving care.  Any amount donated would be greatly appreciated.

AND HERE WE GO AGAIN... One of the SANCTUARY DOGS.. which is why she was never adopted out, as we foresaw long term problems... We received this Email from the attending vet. translated. southern veterinary centers.
Thu 11/25/2021 12:45 PM
Hi Jacqui, I have been seeing Tufa and I see that she has gotten quite worse. I do not think the problem is pain in the hips or back, she walks very strangely with all 4 legs, also with the front legs !!!!!, the neurological examination is not normal in all 4 legs. I am going to refer you to see Sergio Moya, a fellow neurologist specialist because I think she may need more complex tests such as a scan or spinal fluid intake ... etc
I have already contacted him, sending him everything we have about Tufa, as soon as he answers me, which will be today I suppose, I will give you his contact and make an appointment.

WE CURRENTLY HAVE 3 SPONSORS FOR TUFA WITH A TOTAL DONATED OF 45 EURO A MONTH
Please help us to cover her ongoing, and now growing vets bills.
https://www.facebook.com/LastChanceAnimalRescueSpain
Your Sponsorship will help towards the well being of a Long Term Dog in our care.
We will email you a Certificate with a photo of you chosen dog. To sponsor please go to:

Give the Gift of Comfort

We are currently in need of towels and blankets as the weather cools. We use towels in many places at the shelter, including something soft for some of the animals to lay on. We are running a little low and we could use some more. We will take new or used. Please donated all clean towels and blankets to our East or Westside Shelters. We appreciate any and all donations for our furry critters.

National Marine Life Center - www.nmlc.org/
The item we are in most need of this week is Dextrose! Dextrose might not be the first thing that comes to mind when thinking of marine mammals. But, it has proven to be crucial in the survival of our newly admitted patients. Undergoing a stranding event can cause a great deal of stress for these animals, and with that stress response comes a decrease in their blood glucose levels. Upon admit at NMLC, our seals receive an oral administration of dextrose dissolved into an electrolyte solution. It may take a few rounds of administration, but we often see those glucose levels rise, preventing an additional challenge in their recovery. With multiple admits already this year, we are going through our existing supply of dextrose. So, if you would like to donate a bag, or two, to NMLC today, please visit our Amazon Smile Wishlist at https://www.amazon.com/.../E79TJWWSDLST/ref=cm_wl_huc_view. Thank you, ever so much, for the continued support towards our organization!!

Happy Thanksgiving to all of you...I am thinking about the cats we have and as of Friday we had delivered food to all colonies so every cat we help will have a Happy Thanksgiving too. But to do that we had to spend close to $600 last week on food because we have none in stock. So we need food! We are heading into winter and more then ever it is critical that we keep enough food in stock to keep all the cats that rely on us fed. I worry about raising money this winter so if we have the food these cats need to fight the cold weather they will be living in what a blessing this will be. If you can help we appreciate it. The list is in random order and all is needed. Thank you! And again...Happy Thanksgiving. Amazon Wish List: https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/2HFM4T12FZL6E...

To request an adoption application please email: adoptions@horsehumane.org

We rescued Martha from an auction last month, if we had not rescued her, she could have been shipped to Mexico for slaughter. Some kill buyers purchase skinny horses to fatten them up and then ship them to slaughter. At the auction she was so skinny, and scared. She wouldn't let anyone near her because she was so afraid, but today in the pasture she actually walked up to Tawnee and took a cookie out of her hand. This was the first time she's actually wanted to approach anyone. She is gaining weight steadily and her spirit is definitely restored. It's amazing what a difference care, love and kindness can make in such a short time. Martha is still in quarantine at our facility, and will be available for adoption after receiving her 30 days of quarantine. We were able to rescue her because of people just like you making a donation to help transform the life of a horse. We rescue horses regardless of their condition, even if they need the Last Act of Kindness. After they are rescued out of the slaughter pipeline they are individually evaluated by our veterinarian and intake team to determine what is the best plan for each horse: adoption, rehab, training, or the Last Act of Kindness. Support our mission of saving horses by making a donation. Help us as we try to keep horses from being exported into Mexico for slaughter export reports. Give Now!

Donations make a difference - Sarah Lee is a year-old Poodle mix. She is a very special girl with a will to live. She was born with a severe deformity to both of her legs. Due to her age and the seriousness of her rare condition, she could not have the surgery until her growth plates were at a certain stage – which is now. Follow her journey as she embarks on surgeries to stabilize her legs and watch her transformation.  Her personality glows through her photos. If you would like to participate, we are accepting donations that will help fund her multiple surgeries. She will be in foster care for an extended amount of time to nurse her back to health.
Please visit the link above to learn more and to donate. Thank you!

Continuing Education Fund - The Center is very proud to have licensed and certified professionals on our staff. Each year our veterinarians, veterinary technician, and wildlife rehabilitators are required to attend recognized conferences in order to maintain their credentials. In addition to obtaining continuing education, our staff members, whenever possible, try to present at these conferences to help educate others and share our experiences. While this is not a physical item for our hospital, we are seeking ongoing funds to help support our professional staff and their ability to contribute to wildlife health. Cost: $1,000

Biochemistry VetScan VS2 Rotors
At long last, the Center has been able to purchase an AbaxisVetScan VS2 biochemistry analyzer. With this tool, we are able to determine a patient's specific organ function while only collecting the tiniest blood sample. Traditionally we required between 1 -2 mlsof blood to send to an outside lab with expected results in 48 hours. Now all we need is 0.1 mls of blood and we can get our answer in three minutes! This means we can quickly assess a patient's health and respond accordingly. Each analysis requires a rotor that contains chemicals to sample the blood. While we will continue to use our traditional (and much cheaper) means of obtaining biochemistries for larger animals in stable health, this new tool will be used for patients of all sizes requiring emergency care. Cost: $300 per package of 12 rotors.

Medical Textbooks
The literature on veterinary medicine is scant in comparison to published textbooks on domestic species. New resources are being published each year and it is vital that our veterinarians, veterinary technicians, and students stay up-to-date on the latest findings. Our hospital would like to update our current selection of textbooks with newer editions so that we can continue to provide the most updated medical, diagnostic, and surgical care to our patients.
Cost: Textbooks vary in price between $100 - 200

TNR of Warren

We are small and we need your help. It is the only way we can maintain our low prices. We have fixed so many cats this year and we are very low on some supplies and funds. We have 35-40 more Maplecroft Cats still coming in and other situations we are dealing with at this time. We need large puddle pads, betadine, wooden applicators, copy paper, printer ink #65, dog crate replacement trays for traps to sit in must be 36 inches long , sheet protectors 3 holed top loading to hold medical files in our binders, rescue wipes and dry food. We have lots of colonies in need of food. We print a tremendous amount of rabies certificates, invoices and more. Most of these supplies can be found on our Amazon and Walmart wishlists. We have helped and are helping many cats through our spay neuter programs. Our funds are very low. Please help us with a donation. We can’t keep up this work without you. Come to our fundraisers, buy raffle tickets and get involved. Thank you so much for your kindness.
