This page is dedicated to David Dean and other animal lovers who help the welfare cause in their own way.
David has been a part of my life for more than 20 years. He had a tragic accident on May 31st of 2009 and broke his neck. That alone was bad enough, but the resulting problems made things much worse and today he is still struggling for his life.
David was there when I first entered the veterinary field in 1997 and spent the next ten years humoring me in my animal adventures as he is an avid animal lover himself. During the years he gave many a bath to an annoyed cat for me, spent many an hour sitting on the floor of my rescue room playing with litters of feisty kittens, slept many a night with the sounds of newborns and, of course, slept through feeding time with the bottle. He never got upset when I went “what’s that!?” as we drove down the streets, although he did not always stop the car because he knew it would be an hour until we got to where we needed to be. When he was not partaking in my rescue efforts, he was spending time with our animals and spoiling them. Making me the bad guy was part of the fun so that they never were mad at him. When our Husky had cancer he was the one who drove her to her treatments over and over again and listened to her cry in pain in the car on the way home. He was the one who slept on the floor with her when she was sick and couldn’t move well. After she passed away he was the one who wanted another Husky, so we adopted a girl in Colorado who he liked right away. This was to be Dave’s dog I thought since he worked at home and needed the company...and she was. Next came Maximus the Great Pyrenees, who only joined us because Dave gave his permission. I wanted a dog who loved only me since all the animals I had rescued seemed to like him better! I had dragged him to many a shelter before that and yet the right one was just beneath my nose. He fell madly in love once he saw the fluffy white happy puppy and that was that. Max and David were an item, no surprise.
Those are just a few of the many stories I could share with you.

David is a man of good heart and soul and it shows in all the pictures you will see here. He is the perfect example of someone who made a difference by helping me help the cause I love the most. Please feel free to send your good thoughts to him, or to tell us about someone in your life who has helped you be the best you can be!! This is a cause that needs everyone to work together.
And, if you really want to make an impact on the cause and also honor someone in your life, please visit the Donation page to learn more. News Update
Well, I guess the biggest and most important news is that EvieAlo is finally up and running, as you can all see! Please feel free to look around and contact me with any questions or suggestions you may have. EvieAlo is for you!
A big thank you to Linda York from PetPals, Inc in Wyoming for being the first member of the Community Paws Forum. Thank you to Holly Ellis for being the first to join the Public Purrs Message Board. To Jennifer Witebsky for being the first to donate to EvieAlo in the name of Dave Dean. And, to Kasi Rishel for all her patience! Great way to start the site. There are many people who have signed up so far and are watching, but it takes just a few more of you to post...and the others will follow!!
I am also thrilled to announce that Rev. Dr. Leigh Foster has invited me to be on her radio show The Pawz Cauze Show again to discuss my book "Animal Lovers," and this new site as well. I will update with more information when available. In the meantime, EvieAlo is sponsoring her radio show for a few months, so take a few moments if you can and listen to her -- DJ Ice, The Pawz Cauze Show.
6/10 A big welcome to Much MoreThan Me who is our newest friend in working together to help the animals. See their information on the One-of-a-Kind Fundraising page!
7/10 We are proud to say that EvieAlo's one-of-a-kind "transport" bumper stickers are a very popular on our one of two Cafepress stores. Check it out at The EvieAlo Shop link at the top!
7/10 http:/://www.connectionnewspapers.com/article.asp?article=343179&paper=69&cat=104 We have a new pet newspaper here in my area and I submitted a short note about Evie which was included in its first edition. My article is called "New Life" and Evie's photo is on the right hand side with the others. The paper version that they do is much better, of course, but still fun to see online
