Farm life another example of dedication…

As I walked among the sheep, goats, pigs, roosters, horses and other wonderful animals at a small non-profit farm last weekend I was reminded again of the dedication that it takes to save lives.

The founder of the farm is no stranger to the welfare world and we talked of the nuances of the rescue community and the positive and negative aspects of being involved. For her it is a 24 hour life and a big impact, for some it is a smaller impact, but important still. Everything is important when trying to make a difference in the world, no matter the cause.

Her impact on the young adults who volunteer, and the one volunteer who has devoted the last ten years to the farm, make it clear that this is a special place.

The article on this great sanctuary will be published this Friday.

Pet Appreciation Weekend event…

I had fun covering Saturday’s Pet Appreciation Weekend event for the Examiner. The people from Animal Allies are very nice and I was thrilled to find out that All 4 the Animals was going to be there on Sunday. They are the rescue I was volunteering with when I moved back here and where I got Evie from!

Article went out today and is found on the Examiner section of the site.
